The Different Poker Tournaments of the Professional Poker Tour

The Professional Poker Tour is another major poker event that features a good selection of poker tournaments. All of these tournaments are invitational which include only the best and the most established names in the world poker circuit. Participants are either champions or have been serious contenders in the World Poker Tour as well as the World Series of Poker.

There has only been one season so far for the Professional Poker Tour, with the second being cancelled for some indefinite reasons. Despite the postponement, this major poker event has been highly regarded for featuring some of the top invitational poker tournaments. Because of the very high requirements that the organizers asked before players can join, the poker action was guaranteed non-stop and very exciting.

The season started off with the very exciting World Poker Finals. This tournament was indeed a success as it finished off pretty well with John Juanda emerging as the ultimate winner at the end. By defeating the likes of fellow final table finalists Jennifer Harman, Dan Harrington, Chris Bigler, Casey Kastle, and Ron Rose, he was able to take home the $225,000 guaranteed pot.

After the opening tournament, the Professional Poker Tour followed up its success with the L. A. Poker Classic. This important poker tournament was indeed a classic as the best players of the game clearly made it to the final table. They include Allen Krell, Erick Lindgren, Chris Bigler, Asher Derei, Daniel Negreanu, and Dennis Waterman. After a tough and unpredictable contest, it was Lindgren who emerged victorious in the final round taking home the prestigious $225,000 pot.

The third tournament of the tour was the Bay 101. Just like the previous two successful events, this installment proved to be another as the top players of the game suited up for the tournament. In the end, the $225,000 pot went to Tom McEvoy as he edged out fellow finalists Casey Kastle, Alfredo Leonidas, Paul Magriel, Marsha Waggoner, and Hoyt Corkins.

The 3rd Annual Five Star World Poker Classic was the fourth tournament that was featured by the tour. It had a very exciting finish as Lee Markholt bagged the $225,000 pot by winning over fellow tour champion Erick Lindgren, Barry Shulman, Doyle Brunson, Chris Bjorin, and Dan Heimiller. Meanwhile, the last and final tournament that was featured at the Professional Poker Tour was the Mirage Poker Showdown which was eventually won by Ted Forrest.
